Chef Thomas Straker is bringing his flatbread concept to Arcade Battersea when it opens later this month.

Flatbreads are part of the menu at Straker’s on Golborne Road and the TikTok star has also offered them at a low-key pop-up within the former Pizza East site on nearby Portobello Road.

An apparent late addition to the line-up having not been mentioned in previous comms, Flatbread by Thomas Straker will launch at the food hall when it opens on 26 July inside Battersea Power Station.

The menu will build on the success of Straker’s flatbread offer at his restaurant with seven dishes that will include a chilli mussel butter flatbread; nduja with smoked burrata and honey flatbread; and a confit duck leg with pickled onion flatbread.

The flatbreads will feature the chef’s popular butters that became a social media sensation during lockdown.

Another new brand at Battersea Arcade will be Phed Power, serving the street staples of Bangkok and Issan, Dishes will include pad grapao - chicken stir fried with fragrant holy basil, served with rice and a fried egg to spoon into- described as ‘the unofficial national dish of Thailand’; som tam; tam lao; and  neua nam tok – known as 'waterfall' grilled beef - that is served rare with roasted rice, chilli and herbs.

Joining then will be another new brand Siu Siu, serving Cantonese Comfort food, inspired by roast meat shops in Hong Kong. Siu Siu’s signature dish will be sorrowful rice, a popular dish in Chinese culture made famous by the 1996 film God of Cookery that features oven-roasted char siu Iberico pork, finished on the grill and served on steamed rice slicked with sweet soy, pickled mustard greens and a fried egg. Other dishes will include prawn toast; typhoon shelter squid; and a char siu sandwich.

“We hope to have created a venue that people want to visit time and time again”.

Arcade Battersea will have a total of 13 cuisines on its menu and will have three restaurant and two bars. Other offers will include Indian fast food brand Hero; Nepali street food brand Tipan Tapan; shawarma-focused Middle Eastern brand Shatta; Toum; and Sushi Kamon.
