Mexican-Japanese restaurant Los Mochis Notting Hill will launch a six-seat omakase concept early next year.

Billed as the ‘smallest and most intimate omakase in London’, Juno will be located on the Farmer Street restaurant's first floor.

True to the concept, there will be no menu and guests will be served 15 ‘innovative’ courses that are inspired by traditional japanese cuisine but have ‘a distinctive Mexican twist’.

The menu is being created by Los Mochis executive chef Leonard Tanyag, formerly of ex-OKKU and Zuma, and his head sushi chef Han, formerly of Nobu and Roka.

There will be two seatings, one at 6pm and another at 8.30pm. Bookings will require a pre-payment of £180 per head exclusive of drinks and service.

Each course can be accompanied by a wine, sake, or agave-based spirit pairing, reflecting 'the Pan-Pacific ethos' of the restaurant.

The intimate space will boast dark, rustic tones and copper finishes, while the counter itself will be handmade from walnut.

“We’re excited to be able to translate the traditional omakase experience to our much-loved Notting Hill restaurant. This experience allows us to push the boundaries of what a traditional omakase will be, by pairing Mexican spirit and Japanese elegance in a unique way which we simply cannot do in our main restaurant,” says owner Markus Thesleff.

“The exclusive creations we can do for only six guests per seating give us so much flexibility and truly allows our Chefs to express their creative side. At Los Mochis, we continue to innovate the dining experience, which is essential ahead of our flagship restaurant opening in Broadgate in the City in spring 2024.”

Thesleff launched Los Mochis in 2020. A second site under the brand, in The City, will launch next spring.

The 14,000sq ft restaurant will occupy the 9th floor rooftop of 100 Liverpool Street’s Broadgate, and will have a restaurant, two private dining rooms, a 3,000sq ft outdoor terrace with panoramic views of the city, and a bar with one of the largest selections of fine and rare tequilas and mezcals in Europe.

Juno is set to open on 11 January 2024.
