Chef Florence Knight to leave Sessions Arts Club
Under Knight’s culinary direction the Clerkenwell Green restaurant has been a marked critical success attracting rave reviews from critics including Grace Dent and Marina O’Loughlin.
The restaurant - which serves an a la carte menu of simple-yet-refined produce-led dishes - is currently featured on Restaurant’s list of the top 100 restaurants in the UK.
Sessions Arts Club founder Jonny Gent said that he was looking forward to welcoming a new chef in the new year and that the wider business would also be ‘exploring exciting new sites and ventures’.
Knight - whose CV prior to Sessions Arts Club includes St Clement’s and Polpetto - said that her time at the restaurant had been “immensely fulfilling”.
“I hold so many fond memories with the team since we opened,” Knight continues. “I would like to thank Jonny for welcoming me with open arms and allowing me to be a part of building such a wonderful place.”
Gent added: “We would like to thank Florence for her time and dedication, and bringing her wonderful cooking to our guests at Sessions Arts Club. We are so thrilled to have worked alongside Florence and are so excited for where this next chapter will take her.”
Last year, Gent launched Boath House in Scotland. Located in the Highlands near the bay of Findhorn and housed within a Grade A-listed Georgian mansion, it has 10 bedrooms and an indoor restaurant space, with the extensive grounds featuring a 400-year-old walled garden complete with a café, store, and work studio that includes a cabin and sauna.
