“It’s time to say goodbye for now” – Luke Findlay closes sole remaining Supa Ya Ramen site

In an Instagram statement​​, Findlay confirmed that Supa Ya Ramen’s original restaurant in London’s Dalston, which opened back in the summer of 2021​​, had now closed.

He said: “It’s with a heavy heart and a tear in the eye that we’ve had to make the difficult decision to close [Dalston].

“It’s been an incredible few years but it’s time to say goodbye for now.

“We want to thank all the staff so much, everyone of you have left an indelible mark on the place and it wouldn’t have been half of what it was without you.

“To all our wonderful suppliers who’ve kept us in the goods over the years, thank you.”

It comes after Supa Ya Ramen’s only other restaurant on Rye Lane in Peckham closed late last year.

Supa Ya Ramen started out life back in 2019 as a weekly ramen supper club hosted in Findlay’s own kitchen back and is known for 'traditionally inauthentic' ramen dishes that combines bold flavours combinations that often denote British influences.

Signature dishes at the Dalston restaurant included the roast chicken and corn ramen; and a fried cabbage and cheese bowl topped with parmesan.

Findlay added that while it was ‘chopsticks down’ for now, Supa Ya Ramen would return.

“Everyone who has ever come in for some noodles we love you and it won’t be the last time you’ll be able to dunk your head in one of our bowls of soup,” he continued.

“We’re going to take some time to reflect and reenergise to come back bigger and better so keep your eyes peeled for future projects.”
