A gastropub formerly run by chef Dominic Chapman for almost a decade is reinventing itself by serving Indian food.

Gastropub and restaurant The Beehive in White Waltham, Berkshire, has announced a change of style less than six months after it was sold by chef Dominic Chapman.

Its new owners are heralding in what they describe as an "exciting new era for The Beehive" with head chef and owner Ruchi Mehrotra to create a menu of 'global dishes reinvented with Indian flavours'.

"We 're thrilled to announce that The Beehive is embarking on a transformative journey," it says.

"Tasting is in progress for each dish, drink and dessert, which have been blended with Indian essence and contemporary flair to create an unparalleled dining concept."

The gastropub, which has previously featured in the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs List, overlooks a cricket pitch and ran as a traditional English pub under Chapman's tenure.

It was bought by Tangy Treat in December last year for an undisclosed sum.

In March The Beehive gave a taste of what its future might hold with a 'Modern Indian Flavours' event that saw it serve a menu that included dishes such as chilli and lime scallops; grilled lamb kebab; makhni chicken roulade; and sham savera kofta - spinach dumplings stuffed with homemade cottage cheese, makhni sauce, and chur chur roti.
