ORIENT-Express Hotels has re-organised its management in order to pursue growth plans.

Among extensive changes, Nick Varian, formerly vice president of trains and cruises and Asian Hotels, becomes chief development officer while retaining his former responsibilities.

Paul White, who has replaced Simon Sherwood as president and chief executive, said: “To operate and further grow the business in the years ahead, we must harness the skills and talents of our senior managers.

"Today’s realignment is the beginning of a process, which will continue to develop over the coming months.”

The company said that it was in the final stages of recruiting a new chief financial officer, the post vacated by White.
