Devilish Makeover for Top Scots' Gastro
Eighty Queen Street under new management

ONE of Edinburgh`s top bar-restaurants is set for a glittering makeover now that it`s under new management.

Dario Pacifici, owner of the Devil`s Kitchen catering company, has taken over at the popular Eighty Queen Street.

The popular venue will serve food and drink from his famous catering firm, which has boasted clients including Hugh Grant, Joan Rivers and Billy Joel.

The refurbishment - which will take place the early part of the new year - will see the bar given a new look and also a new name, although a decision on what it will be has not yet been made.

The interior of the Georgian building will remain traditionally decorated, but bulky booths will be removed and walls repainted to give a fresher and lighter feel.

Mr Pacifici is looking forward to his future at the venue. He said: "Like a recipe for a cake it is composed of many measured ingredients. To deviate from the exact amounts would only facilitate failure.

"The main ingredients in this recipe would be the product and then the service, the product being the food and the latter being the way one would receive the food and the cohesive glue in creating a fluid atmosphere."
