Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards: Last call for entries

Hospitality businesses operating in the Scottish Highlands and islands are being urged to enter this years awards.

Hotel and restaurant owners in the Scottish Highlands and islands off Scotland are being reminded to nominate their businesses and staff for this year`s Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards. 

The deadline for the awards, which acknowledge the hard work and commitment displayed by those in the industry, is August 29 and businesses are urged to enter for their chance to win one of 11 awards. 

The categories are: Best Visitor Experience,  Community Tourism, Customer Care, Dining Out Experience, Innovation The Green Award, Marketing Initiative, New Tourism Business, Tourism People Development, Highland Young Ambassador of the Year and Highland Ambassador of the Year. 

Chair of the Awards Board of Directors, Liz Mackintosh said: “The awards are open to all tourism businesses, individuals and initiatives across the Highlands and Islands, and celebrate the best of the industry in the area.

“The deadline is looming and but there is still time to submit an entry, and I’d encourage businesses not to hesitate to get involved in submitting an entry for a 2008 award – or more, if applicable.”

Applicants can enter the awards through the Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards website.

The winners will be announced on November 21 at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness.
