Benugo to open Museum of London cafes
As part of a £20.5m refurbishment operation, the Museum of London has contracted caf? deli group Benugo to open a series of outlets within the site.
Benugo will operate two new outlets and takeover the existing Museum Caf? that will be moved into the entrance hall. The additions will include a Gallery Caf? and a Bar and Kitchen, both of which are due to open alongside the launch of the museums new galleries in Spring 2010.
Professor Jack Lohman, Director of Museum of London, said: “I’m delighted we’ll be working with one of London’s premier catering companies. Like Museum of London, Benugo is a creative and innovative organisation committed to providing world-class service to its customers. Their expert team are going to develop a fantastic catering offer to add to the enjoyment of a visit to the Museum.”
Opening in December 2008, The Museum Caf? will offer a counter service range of Benugo’s trademark sandwiches, wraps and salads, as well as desserts and soups. The Gallery Caf? will also run along the same concept, but will act as a ‘rest stop’ for visitors as they journey through the museums new galleries.
A roll-out of the BFI Southbank concept, the Bar and Kitchen will be more of an informal meeting place for breakfast, lunch and evening dining, as well as a relaxing place to drink.
Ben Warner (pictured left with brother Hugo), Co-Founder of benugo said: “I have always have had a huge fondness for the Museum Of London and feel honoured and delighted to be part of what is one of the greatest celebration of a capital city in the world.”
The Museum of London will remain open throughout the refurbishment project, giving visitors access to the upper galleries and a series of topical exhibitions.
