Gordon Ramsay steps back from Maze Prague

Gordon Ramsay Holdings​ has announced it is handing over control of its Maze restaurant in Prague to the Hilton just 15 months after it opened at the hotel. 

In a move described as a ‘mutual agreement,’ GRH and the owners of the Hilton Prague Old Town Hotel​ have discussed a change in their business relationship. While the day-to-day running of the food and beverage operation will fall back into the hands of the hotel, GRH will provide support in the form of a consultancy service, offering advice on menu planning in particular.

GRH meanwhile is preparing for the launch of Maze at the One & Only Resort​ in Cape Town, which is due to launch in April, as well as Maze in Melbourne’s Crown Casino​ in February 2010.

However, speculation has continued to grow over the financial stability of GRH, who this month posted and immediately took down​ Sloane Street and The Devonshire from an estate agents website, and are now rumoured to owe in the region of £100k to suppliers.

While the company is also currently six months overdue on filing their accounts, which could potentially see them face court action, a spokesperson for GRH said “they will be filing their accounts at the end of this week, and companies house have no plans to prosecute.”
