Landmark London launches restaurant after £1m refurbishment

The Landmark London hotel in Marylebone will next week open its 85-cover restaurant and bar after an extensive £1m refurbishment.

Twotwentytwo will incorporate the grade II listed building’s original features with eclectic, modern furniture to create a chic and elegant dining space, designed by Fusion by Design.

A life-size black horse lamp will be situated in the entrance to the restaurant as a reference to the horse-drawn carriages that would frequent the hotel upon its opening in 1899.

Double-sided, banquet-style seating with tables featuring inset Champagne bowls runs through the centre of the room up to the bar, which serves an array of ‘his and hers’ cocktails and showcases a ‘Wine Library’ featuring bottles of fine wine. The wine list will be divided into categories such as `fruity and elegant reds`, and `crisp and fresh whites` in order to allow guests to make informed choices.

Executive chef Gary Klaner, formerly of the Berkeley, has created a modern European menu to reflect twotwentytwo’s style, including Beef Carpaccio with Rocket, Black Truffle Oil and Shaved Parmesan; Seafood Risotto with Crab, Prawns, Mussels, Squid and Tarragon; and Pan-fried Fillet of Seabass with a Fennel, Watercress and Orange Salad. A separate grill menu will offer a variety of meat and fish including traditional Irish beef matured for up to 28 days.

Twotwentytwo will serve lunch, dinner and drinks, and will be open from Monday to Friday as of 5 May.
