Blakes Hotel owner opens second boutique property in London
Meir Abutbul, whose first business in the UK was café chain Apostrophe, opened La Suite West last month within a row of Victorian town houses on Inverness Terrace which borders Hyde Park.
The hotel is overseen by general manager Stacey Leonard and designed by acclaimed British designer Anouska Hempel. It features complimentary Wi-Fi throughout and has been created under the mantra of ‘a destination choice for the stylish, savvy traveller’.
La Suite West also contains a 50-cover restaurant overseen by head chef Marcello Kaminski, serving a varied selection of international dishes. The restaurant also offers a menu of ‘honestly healthy’ dishes created by chef Natasha Corrett and a leading nutritionist.
The hotel’s design features Asian details, with corridors of marble floors, bespoke four-poser beds and whitewashed rooms. It also houses three studio suites which open out onto their own private terrace.
The nearby 50-bedroom Blakes Hotel in South Kensington was purchased out of administration in 2010 for around £20 million, as Abutbul and fellow owner Navid Mirtorabi announced plans to take the brand abroad.
With regards to the potential for more hotels in the capital, a spokesperson told BigHospitality: "At the moment La Suite West is just a one-off hotel offering in London."
