EPIC, a collection of serviced apartments in Liverpool, is the latest brand to tap in on the ever-growing aparthotel market with the launch of Epic Apart Hotel in the city centre.

Opening on Seel Street on Thursday (26 September), the new concept is the brainchild of EPIC’s founders Simon and Fiona Beer. Aged just 26 and 27 respectively, the pair believe there is still ‘a real gap in the market for an upmarket aparthotel that appeals to everyone’.

“We are a young, dynamic company and we bring this enthusiasm and commitment to all of our projects,” said Simon. “With the Apart Hotel we wanted to create a Hotel that is totally individual, within the EPIC brand, which means our customers can always expect an impeccable level of standards and service.”

Wife Fiona added: “We are also keen to know that EPIC Apart Hotel is hugely competitive in terms of price. With this new development we want to put the emphasis on affordable luxury. We want our customers to feel comfortable without the more formal approach of a traditional hotel.

“Each apartment is finished to the highest specification with superb facilities that enable our clients to enjoy their stay, in a location which enables them to enjoy the very best that Liverpool has to offer.”

EPIC Penthouse

With easy access to Liverpool One and the Albert Dock, accommodation offerings at Epic Apart hotel range from studio, one, two and three-bed apartments, with the latter able to sleep up to 10 people.

All rooms feature fully-equipped kitchens and lounge areas, with the main hotel area including a 24-hour reception area and full guest concierge service.

The ‘jewel in the crown’ is  a luxury penthouse which houses three bedrooms across two floors, including a custom-built chandelier. In addition to the living and sleeping areas, the EPIC Penthouse also boasts a rooftop garden overlooking the Liverpool skyline.

Given the success of the EPIC brand so far, Simon Beer believes this new aparthotel concept has the legs to be expanded upon across the rest of the UK.

“I have been in the property business for over a decade now, and I am really proud of what we have achieved with the Duke Street Apartments,” he said. “A huge amount of team work and effort has gone into is designing, building and finishing of the project and we know through advanced bookings that we are going to make huge success of the EPIC Apart Hotel.

“When the hotel is established we hope to extend the brand and its unique ethos and developments into other cities, so that the name EPIC establishes itself as a brand on a larger scale. However, Liverpool will always be our home and the place where the EPIC brand was born.”

Here to stay

Earlier this year, BigHospitality reported that the UK hotel industry is expected to see significant growth in the relatively immature serviced apartment marketas the number of these so-called aparthotels continues to rise.

The past 12 months have seen a number of new operators make their mark in the UK offering venues with furnished apartments for short or long stays which also offer some of the benefits of using a hotel - such as a manned reception or an F&B offer.

Yorkshire-based business Roomzzz revealed plans to open at least two more venues this yearwhile the new owners of Birchover Hotel Apartments in the East Midlands also have expansion plans in their midst.

The year has also seen the launch of another large, luxury serviced apartment in Liverpool, from newly-formed company Richmond Luxury Living, while London hotel The Cavendish has been transformed into serviced residencesby owner-operator The Ascott.

EPIC serviced apartments consists of four properties in the nearby Duke Street. All continue to trade as normal.
