Now in its third year, the Independent Hotel Show has announced shortlisted nominees for its two awards.

Split into two categories – Independent Hotelier of the Year and Outstanding Hotel of the Year – the awards are currently collecting votes to crown the two winners for 2014.

The Independent Hotelier of the Year category recognises hoteliers’ contribution to the independent luxury and boutique hotel sector.

2014 nominees are:

  • Craig Bancroft and Nigel Haworth – Northcote Manor
  • Kit and Tim Kemp – Firmdale Hotels
  • Mark Sainsbury, Michael Benyan and Jason Catifeoglou – The Zetter and Zetter Townhouse
  • Ian Schrager - Ian Schrager Company
  • David Levin - The Capital Hotel
  • Tim Hart - Hambleton Hall and Harts

Nominees were selected for their ‘pioneering spirit’ and ‘commitment to pushing boundaries’, as well as for their ability to develop their teams and invest in their establishments as well as the industry.

Last year’s winners were Terence and Vicki Conran and Peter Prescott from East London’s Boundary Hotel.

The Outstanding Hotel of the Year category rewards new entrants to the market that have shown a commitment to dynamism and innovation over the last three years.

2014 nominees are:

  • Chiltern Firehouse, London
  • The Lord Crewe Arms, Blanchland, County Durham
  • Ham Yard Hotel, London
  • No 131, Cheltenham
  • The Pig on the Beach, Studland, Dorset
  • The Wild Rabbit, Oxfordshire

They were shortlisted for their level of service and guest experiences, personality and style, as well as for achieving significant success in a relatively short time.

Last year’s winner was The Pig in Brockenhurst.
