Organised by the Craft Guild of Chefs, the National Chef of the Year competition took place during the Restaurant Show.

Chefs had two hours to produce a menu including a shellfish starter, a meat-based main, and a hot or cold chocolate dessert.

The judging panel was chaired by Clare Smyth and Philip Howard, and included a number of Michelin-starred chefs.

Colette's at The Grove's Russell Bateman scooped the 2014 title, with Daniel Morgan from The Square in second place and Nick Edgar from Belmond The Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons in third.
