Itsu is continuing its expansion in the North of England with a new opening in Leeds.

The brainchild of Pret a Manger founder Julian Metcalfe, itsu  has over 60 sites in London and opened its first Manchester venue earlier this year.

Now the healthy eating chain is bringing its 'eat beautiful' message to Leeds with a 144-cover restaurant opening on the city’s Commercial Street on 16 March.

The venue will offer the recently launched hot food menu – ‘miso with benefits’ – including Lucky Duck, Chicken Rice and Dumplings Melt.

It will also serve breakfast and give away a free banana with every coffee and tea.

Said Takhamt, itsu’s director of development, said: “Our recent opening in Manchester demonstrated to us that our proposition can succeed in the North, whilst our stores in Reading and Cambridge have shown that busy shopping districts are where itsu thrives.

“Our new store in Leeds felt like a natural progression for us when deciding our next location - it’s an exciting time for the city’s fast growing food and drink scene and we look forward to being part of it.”

itsu offers students 15 per cent off every day after 3pm and 50 per cent off all dishes made fresh that day in the final hour before closing.

The chain opened its first site outside London in Oxford in 2013, followed by Brighton in 2014 and Cambridge, Reading and Stanstead Airport last year.
