More than 850 producers and suppliers are at this year's Speciality and Fine Food Fair
A Mexican cheese, edible insects and a riddled beer are among the products available to try and source at this year's Speciality and Fine Food Fair. 

More than 850 producers will be showcasing the latest and the best of the speciality food sector at the show at London's Olympia from 4 to 6 September. 

Also featuring at the show are cooking demonstrations in Fine Food Live, practical business advice in the Small Business Forum and Business Mentoring Centre and a special focus on chocolate at Speciality Chocolate Live. 

Exhibition director Soraya Gadelrab said: "Speciality & Fine Food Fair is a real treasure trove of artisan gems - and stories - just waiting to be discovered. This colourful and vibrant show provides an unrivalled and unique opportunity for buyers, chefs and caterers to discover the latest products for the hospitality sector." 

Fine Food Live

The latest food trends, cooking tips and more will be shared at the Fine Food Live demonstration theatre. The themes this year include Clean Living, Menu Development & Trends and Convenience with speakers and presenters to include Leaner Living founder Steven Rowe, chef and Simply Good Food TV founder Peter Sidwell, Louisa Mitchelll and Robert Grieg-Gran of Mindful Chef; Sustainable Living Expert, James Strawbridge and MasterChef finalist, Emma Spitzer. The theatre will also feature the Ready, Steady, Speciality cook-off.

Speciality Chocolate

Speciality Chocolate Fair features products from more than 70 premium chocolate producers, including Cacao di Vine, Beech's Fine Chocolates, Dragees Reynaud, Bonieri, Chief Chocolate Officer, Duke of Delhi, Mood Foods Ltd, Paxton Chocolate and Simply Chocolate. 

Situated in the heart of the fair is Speciality Chocolate Live, a series of live cooking demonstrations hosted by Marc Demarquette, founder of Demarquette Fine Chocolates. The programme features pastry chefs, chocolatiers and rising stars in the industry; from companies such as Pump Street Bakery, Boutique Aromatique and Academy of Chocolate with presenters to include The Langham's executive pastry chef Cherish Finden, The Academy of Chocolate co-founder Marie-Pierre Moine and Philippe Wall, the creator of last year's life-size chocolate baby elephant, who will be unveiling 2016's show-stopping centrepiece - a chocolate throne.

Products

New exhibitors for this year include Paul Rhodes Bakery, St Ewe Free Range Eggs, Karkli Snacks, Minioti, The Gorgeous Food Company, Nuto Nuts, A Little Bit, Nonno Nanni, Purrssells London and Sauce Shop.

New products will include:

  • Ozerlat Turkish Coffee (Stand 3523) showcasing their range of real Turkish coffee, which is available in Heritage and Mozaik blends. The company will also exhibit its range of specially designed demitasse coffee cups and "cezve" - the traditional small pan used to make Turkish coffee. 
  • Smoky Brae Smoked BBQ Rub (Stand V54). Made in Scotland, the rub is cold smoked to help create the most authentic barbecue flavour. Other products include Smoked Sugar and Smoked Gravlax Cure. 
  • Jiminis Edible Insects (Stand V84). On a mission to introduce the nutritional and environmental benefits of insects to our plates, French company Jimini's will be showcasing their ready-to-eat range of seasoned insects and cricket flour energy bars. Varieties include Pepper and Dried Tomato Grasshoppers, Sweet Mango Crickets and Garlic and Herb Mealworms.
  • Gringa Dairy Authentic Mexican Cheese (Stand V136). This artisan dairy, situated under the railway arches in London's Old Kent Road, has created a name for itself for creating authentic Mexican cheeses and has already won medals at the International Cheese Awards 2016. 
  • Savour Beer Sparkling Beer Brut (Stand V165). The beer producers will be launching two gift packs. This includes the award winning Sparkling Beer Brut which is one of only a handful of beers in the world to be riddled and disgorged using the traditional method.
