Italian chef Gino D’Acampo is to open a new restaurant in Leeds later this year.

The TV personality is set to launch the third outpost of his premium Gino D’Acampo - My Restaurant brand in a 150-cover former Piccolino venue on Leeds’ Park Row.

Piccolino will be moving to larger premises in the city, of which details will be announced soon.

The two-storey restaurant will serve ‘real Italian food’ and feature an open kitchen, wine bar and eat-at deli bar.

It follows the launch of the My Restaurant concept, which D’Acampo created in partnership with Individual Restaurants and Piccolino owner Steven Walker, in Manchester’s Corn Exchange in 2015.

A second site launched at London’s Euston station earlier this year.

D’Acampo said: “After months of planning for the opening, I can’t wait to welcome guests to My Restaurant, Leeds.

“Every effort has been made to make sure our guests have a true Italian experience – we’ve got some great dishes for you to try. I’m looking forward to treating Yorkshire to a real taste of Italy.”

The chef also runs the Gino D’Acampo – My Pasta Bar concept, which currently operates three London sites.

D’Acampo said last year that he was planning to expand the My Restaurant concept across the UK and was also eyeing international expansion.
