London outshines the regions on OpenTable's top 100 list
London restaurants continue to dominate OpenTable’s annual ranking of the top 100 restaurants in the UK with just seven from outside the capital on this year’s list, which is based on user reviews.

Brett Graham’s Notting Hill restaurant The Ledbury has retained that number one spot for the third year running. Chelsea restaurant The Five Fields is ranked second while Caprice Holdings-owned Mayfair stalwart Scott’s holds the number three spot.

The rest of the top 10 are all in the capital. The remaining 90 restaurants are listed in alphabetical order.

The seven non-London restaurants to make the grade include Forage & Chatter in Edinburgh; Number 16 Restaurant in Glasgow; The Chefs Table in Chester; and The French Table in Surrey.

Around 80% of the restaurants on the list serve European-style cuisine. Steak has proved popular on this year’s list with 10 steak specialists making the final cut.

Top 100 is compiled from around 730,000 verified OpenTable diner reviews from over 6,500 restaurants the UK in the last 12 months.

All restaurants with a minimum number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants are sorted according to an overall score, which takes into account a number of criteria including each restaurant’s average rating, along with that restaurant’s rating relative to others in the same area and the average number of restaurants reviewed by diners who reviewed that restaurant.
