Gastropub group Bel & The Dragon is to add bedrooms to all its six sites by 2019.

The company, which already operates over 50 rooms across the South of England, will launch a further 13 this year.

Following the debut launch of five rooms at its Reading location, six are set to open in Windsor for the first time.

Two more rooms will be added to Kingsclere this spring, while the Cookham site will double its accommodation offer to 10 rooms within an adjacent cottage this month.

Bel & The Dragon’s chief operations officer Hector Ross told Restaurant magazine last year that the addition of bedrooms was an ‘enormous opportunity’ for the company to drive growth and increase trade with corporate diners in the week and leisure customers at weekends.

“We have a huge demand for accommodation across the group so we expect these developments to really boost business and revenue,” says Ross.

Bel & The Dragon also closed its Godalming gastropub in January this year, with Ross telling Get Surrey that the decision was partly due to the inability to add rooms to the site.

All menus at the company continue to be overseen by executive group head chef Ronnie Kimbugwe, who worked for Gordon Ramsay Group for nine years until 2011.

The group already offers accommodation at its sites in Churt and Oldiham.
