Breddos Tacos has closed its restaurant in London's Soho after less than two years of trading.

The group shut its Kingly Street site on 24 October.

Burger brand Patty & Bun is understood to be taking over the site for its tenth full-service London restaurant.

Breddos wrote on its Instagram page last week: “Soho, it’s been sweet. We’ve had an incredible 1.5 years here at Kingly St, have loved every second of it, but tonight we close our doors. Thank you to our team and our customers who have shared some fun memories with us.”

Breddos started out as a makeshift taco shack in a car park in Hackney in 2011, before launching bricks and mortar sites in Clerkenwell in 2016 and Soho in October 2017.

The Clerkenwell restaurant continues to trade, and the Breddos team will open a Mexican restaurant project, named Madre, in Liverpool next month.

The Kingly Street site was previously home to US chef Brad McDonald's short-lived Shotgun Barbecue restaurant.

Breddos is part of a joint venture with The Hoxton and Gleneagles owner Ennismore.
