Just Eat is offering NHS workers 25% off all orders as a ‘show of appreciation for their extraordinary work’.

The company says that 20,000 doctors, nurses, paramedics and NHS employees across the UK have so far taken advantage of the discount to get a hot meal delivered for themselves, colleagues or their families.

The new discount for healthcare workers comes after the delivery aggregator put in place a £10m emergency support package to assist its small independent restaurants partners, to help them maintain their operations and support their staff.

The company is also offering financial support for couriers who fall ill as a result of Covid-19 or may need to self-isolate.

“Millions of NHS staff are working round the clock to keep us safe, help the most vulnerable and keep this country going,” says, Andrew Kenny, Just Eat UK Managing Director.

“There’s never been a more important time for us to show our support and appreciation for their heroic efforts.”

“We’re all in this together. In a time that will no doubt continue to put a huge strain on our frontline healthcare workers and their families, we hope this gesture helps many to enjoy a hot meal and provides a small sense of normality.”

The discount offer runs until Monday 13 April with NHS staff required to register an NHS email address to be eligible.
