San Carlo Restaurant Group is opening a new Italian restaurant in London’s St Christopher’s Place next year.

The new Italian restaurant, located round the corner from department store Selfridges, will open in spring 2021 and will feature a 200-cover dining room as well as two outdoor dining terraces. It is understood to be a new brand for the restaurant group, which operates concepts including San Carlo, Signor Sassi, Fumo, Cicchetti, Bottega, Gran Cafe and Flying Pizza.

It will mark the 22nd restaurant in the San Carlo Group, which operates venues in London, including Alto by San Carlo, the rooftop, Selfridges, Signor Sassi on Knightsbridge Green, Cicchetti Piccadilly and Covent Garden, San Carlo Regent Street St James’s and Fumo St Martin’s Lane, as well as parts of England and Qatar, Bangkok, Riyadh and Bahrain.

“We are very excited to have been able to acquire this site as it has been on our radar for a long time,” says Marcello Distefano, managing director of San Carlo Restaurant Group.

“St Christopher’s Place and the area surrounding it has been going through an amazing transformation over the past couple of years.

"We’re looking forward to bringing something new and exciting and will be revealing our plans in the coming weeks.

"Although London is very difficult at the moment, we believe it will come back stronger than ever.”

It joins relative newcomers Harry’s Bar, Flat Iron and Hoppers in the West End location.

Property agent CDG Leisure acted on behalf of San Carlo group.
