Soho stalwart Vasco & Piero’s Pavillion has secured a site on D’arblay Street following the closure of its original site earlier this year.

Formerly Ceru, the 2,400 sq ft site is moments from the Italian restaurant’s former location and is expected to open later this year.

A long-standing favourite of actors, creatives and chefs, the original Vasco & Piero’s Pavillion closed its doors as it celebrated its 50th birthday following a dispute with its landlord over rent.

The new site will continue to offer a regularly-changing Umbrian-inspired menu and will be designed by Panetta Design Arichtects.

The space will ‘embody an Umbrian ambiance, accentuated by established paintings, lights and furniture’.

“We are thrilled to be back better than ever in a new location that will enable us to recommence our legacy, and allow us to undertake a new chapter in our journey after fifty years,” says Paul Matteucci, the current owner and son of founder Vasco Matteucci.

“Soho and its community are at the heart of our restaurant, and we are so excited to continue serving our beloved dishes to the people we have missed so much.”

Property agent Shelley Sandzer secured the new location for Matteucci.

“Vasco and Piero’s is a Soho classic, and it’s wonderful to have played a key role in bringing them back to where they belong,” says managing partner Nick Weir.

"Working alongside an independent favourite, which has made its mark in central London through years of dedication and service, is something we’re proud to do.”
