Caprice Holdings is looking to open a restaurant under it’s The Ivy brand in Chichester.

The group, which operates the 36-strong The Ivy Collection that includes brasseries and cafes, intends to open on 89-91 East Street in the middle of Chichester city centre in a site formerly occupied by Topman and Topshop.

Troia (UK) Restaurants has applied to Chichester District Council for the grant of a premises license with the application for alcohol to be sold on and off the premises. The application is also for late-night refreshments and live music.

The restaurant would be the latest in a number of new hospitality venues that have opened in the city in recent months, including Lime Squeezy, the debut restaurant from Giggling Squid co-founder Pranee Laurillar, and a new outpost for southern-based restaurant group Bangerz 'n' Burgerz.

The city has also recently welcomed fast growing burger brand Five Guys and is also set to be home to a branch of Canadian restaurant brand Tim Hortons, which is believed to be opening in the former Pizza Hut site.

Caprice Holdings is continuing to expand its Ivy Collection group of restaurants, with new openings also planned for Exeter and Windsor.
