Soho House will make the move south of the river in the capital this summer with the opening of a club in Balham, south London, as well as going north for the first time with a Manchester venue.

Its new House on Balham Hill will be a 5,300sq ft venue featuring a a club space, bar and Club Cecconi’s restaurant.

It will be the tenth Soho House to open in the capital and its first in south London.

“We want to offer members more spaces outside of central London,” says Soho House founder Nick Jones.

The new club is part of continued expansion by Soho House both in the UK and overseas. Speaking at the Northern Restaurant and Bar Show Nick Jones said the group will open a club in Manchester hopefully by the end of the year.

Spread over three floors in the former Granada TV Studios on Quay Street, the club will feature restaurants including a Cecconi’s and Mollie’s Manchester and also a rooftop pool.

Mollie’s Manchester will have 140 rooms, a 164-cover diner restaurant, a lounge bar with live music and private hire event space, workspace and lounge, and an outdoor heated terrace. It will be the third and largest Mollie's site to date, following the launch of Mollie’s Oxfordshire and Mollie’s Bristol.

Soho House Manchester will be located above Mollie's, with a members-only club and rooftop pool on the building's top floors.

The Manchester house will be Soho House’s fourth venue outside of London following the opening of its first coastal site in Brighton. Situated on Madeira Drive in a Grade II-listed building, Little Beach House Brighton opens this month.

Soho House will also open venues in Bangkok and second in Miami this year.
