Nick Jones steps down from Soho House

Jones has been CEO of the business for the past 27 years and has taken Soho House from a single location to publicly listed company, Membership Collective Group (MCG), which has 38 locations worldwide.

Jones, who is now free from cancer after receiving treatment, will remain on the board in a founder role. Andrew Carnie, who previously served as global president after joining MCG from fashion and homeware retailer Anthropologie in 2019, will replace Jones as chief executive.

Writing in an email to members, he said: “First some bad news, and some very good news. In early summer I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. It was caught early and my treatment has been 100% successful – and I’m not only healthy again but also cancer-free.

“Inevitably, this experience has changed my perspective and focus. As a result, from today I’m transitioning from CEO to my original role as founder and will focus on the creative and membership aspects of Soho House.”

Ron Burkle, executive chairman of MCG, said: “Nick’s vision has created and scaled a membership platform unlike any other. We are extremely thankful for his longstanding energy and commitment as CEO and look forward to his continued inspiration and involvement as founder.
