Hungry Donkey team to launch Vori in Holland Park

Named after a beach on the Greek island of Andros, Vori will offer a menu of rustic Greek dishes and an all-Greek, naturally-leaning wine list.  

Markos Tsimikalis closed his Devonshire Square restaurant earlier this week after seven years and will move the majority of the Hungry Donkey team to Holland Park. 

Vori’s menu will reflect the ‘dramatic’ seasons of Andros, where ‘winters are rugged and wild, and summers are both golden and beautiful’.

The menu will rely heavily on a charcoal oven, with dishes including homemade spanakopita; courgette fritters; grilled sea bass with Kakavia fish soup reduction; and lamb chump, tahini, honey and rosemary chickpeas.

The wine list will be made up of exclusively Greek wines produced using indigenous grapes. 

Vori will also offer a creative cocktail list and beers from top Greek microbreweries. 

The space will ‘emulate the traditional colours and landscape of Andros’, with the colour palette including olive green, white, navy blue, and terracotta orange.
