The free-to-attend event will mark the first time Generation Next, a content forum that focuses on the future stars of hospitality, has ventured outside of the capital, and will feature a range of panels and fireside chats with Birmingham-based operators spanning the spectrum of the hospitality space.
They include a discussion with The Wilderness's head chef Alex Claridge on the future of fine dining; and a panel on how restaurateurs in Birmingham are diversifying their business with contributions from chef Brad Carter, talking about his One Star Döner Bar, and marketing manager Holly Alexander-Priest on the evolution of Birmingham bar and restaurant Jojolounge.
There will also be a chat with Nick Fountain, head of marketing for Fat Hippo, on building a national burger brand; North Brewing Co director John Gyngell on creating a successful brewery and bar business amid an ever-growing craft beer phenomenon; and a panel discussion examining the realities of growing a new restaurant business with speakers including Clare Collins, co-founder of Birmingham-based pizza brand Smoke + Ash, and Nikolaos Fylladitakis, owner of Laros Greek Street Food.
Created by Restaurant Magazine and BigHospitality in partnership with MCA, Generation Next is targeted at those who own or operate independent restaurants and pubs or bars (up to five sites), coffee shops, QSR, food-to-go operations and street food vendors.
Its aim is to provide up-and-coming hospitality businesses with key information, insight and inspiration as well as a platform for networking to support business growth.
