Burrito brand El Mexicana will launch a site in Gloucester Quays later this year bringing its total number of sites back to double figures.

The currently nine-strong group has just signed for a 600 sq ft site adjacent to The Real Greek, which launched last year.

As at the groups other sites - which are mainly in the south of the UK - the offer will be focused on custom-made burritos, quesadillas and nachos.

Founded by John Coverley in 2011, the group was bought out of administration earlier this year.

“Our take on some of the most famous Mexican dishes has universal appeal, and can be summed up in two words – fresh and vibrant. We are delighted to be joining Gloucester Quays, a place that has shown its huge F&B appeal and is continues to be relevant for a huge range of customers in and around Gloucester,” says Coverley.

Paul Carter, Asset Director at Gloucester Quays’ owner Peel L&P, added: “Providing new options at Gloucester Quays means we can truly appeal to all of our visitors, whether they live locally or further afield, and whether they want to grab a quick lunch or enjoy a meal as part of a full day out. El Mexicana delivers on all of these – their offer works for a number of visitation reasons, and they add a fresh take on a new cuisine for Gloucester Quays.”
