Sticks’n’Sushi heads east with Shoreditch opening
Next door to hotel One Hundred Shoreditch, the 200-seat restaurant is being designed by Diener & Diener, who are longstanding architects of Sticks’n’Sushi.
The restaurant will feature a striking centerpiece bar and furnishings ‘that capture Danish Hygge with Japanese aesthetics’.
“The new Shoreditch Sticks’n’Sushi is a fantastic addition to the local area, being the ideal location for after-work dinners, drinks, celebratory meals, and business lunches centred on authentic Japanese fare,” says Sticks’n’Sushi group CEO Andreas Karlsson.
“The area is brimming with bars, restaurants, and atmosphere – and I believe we will become a great addition to the local community.”
Founded in Copenhagen in 1994, Sticks’n’Sushi launched its first UK site in 2012 and now operates a total of 25 restaurants in Denmark, the UK and Germany.
There are currently eight restaurants in London: Wimbledon, Covent Garden, Greenwich, Canary Wharf, Victoria, King’s Road, Soho, and White City. There are also restaurants in Oxford and Cambridge.
Early this year, the group posted a strong set of results for its financial year ending 30 June 2022 with its UK arm accounting for the majority of its profits.
The group’s 10 UK restaurants grossed £44m and generated £7.2m EBITDA while the group as a whole turned over a total of £86m equating to an EBITDA of £10.4m.
