Oowee vegan to close its Dalston site
The currently five-strong business says that it has come to the conclusion that location is “not right for us” and that it has become “financially unviable” due to its size and cost base.
Announcing the decision to close in an Instagram post, Oowee confirmed that the rest of its business “remains successful”.
The closure will leave Oowee with a single London site, in Brixton Village, two sites in Bristol and a further site in Brighton.
Oowee was founded in Bristol by Charlie and Verity Foss in 2016 as a pop-up sandwich kitchen, and went on to establish itself as an American-style diner site concept.
The brand was initially focused on meat but has now switched to a fully plant-based offering.
The last day of trading at Oowee’s Dalston site will be 21 May.
