Neighbourhood-style restaurant group Megan’s has closed its site in London's Parsons Green ahead of plans to relaunch it next month under its ‘little brother’ pan-Asian brand Ollie’s House.

Megan's says it in active negotiations for a 'much larger' site in the area, as part of its strategy to focus on bigger venues to deliver an 'all-day dining, all occasion neighbourhood concept'.

“Whilst we absolutely adore our little Parsons Green home, this site just doesn’t fit the Megan’s model anymore,” explains Gill Clements, finance director at Megan’s.

“The Megan’s concept today is very much about catering to multiple different experiences in one restaurant. We host everything from mother and baby groups, to weddings, to birthdays and parties alongside our regular restaurant operations. To be able to do what we do right, we need large expansive restaurants and our existing Parsons Green restaurant does not fit that model.

“Parsons Green is an area we know, love and trade successfully and we look forward to returning to the area in the very near future.

“Whilst it is goodbye for Megan’s for now, we are excited to announce that our ‘little brother’ concept, Ollie’s House, will be opening in our old location in Parsons Green, meaning that we can allow a new and exciting independent concept to flourish.”

Ollie’s House launched its first site in Chelsea in August 2022 and is described as blending 'laid-back dining and tropical Asian cuisine'.

“Following the incredible reception of our first restaurant in Chelsea, we are beyond excited to bring Ollie’s House to Parsons Green,” says Oliver Norcliffe, founder of Ollie's House.

“Having lived in Southwest London for the past 10 years, Parsons Green is an area that I know and love; it is quaint and neighbourly, just like the new Ollie’s House will be, which makes the location a great fit.”

Megan's opened its first restaurant on Chelsea’s King’s Road in 2002 and now operates a total of 19 sites, primarily concentrated in the capital.

The group has a further opening planned for later this year in Farnham, with locations in Twickenham and Weybridge slated for early 2024.
