Leonid Shutov has acquired the former Folie site in Soho for a more informal spin-off to his glamorous British French restaurant Bob Bob Ricard.

Located opposite the original Bob Bob Ricard on Golden Square, Bébé Bob will major in rotisserie chicken, fine wines and Champagne.

Two varieties of chicken from different regions in France, Vendee and Landes, chosen by group chef director Ben Hobson, will lie at the heart of the menu.

Both birds will be cooked rotisserie-style, served whole at the table with a chicken jus and carved in view of guests to feed two.

Diners are encouraged to pick from a handful of ‘elevated’ sides and sauces to accompany, including truffle French fries, winter leaf salad, sauteed kale, truffle jus and Albufiera sauce.

Like its older siblings in Soho and The City, Bébé Bob will offer various types of caviar including Baerii, Oscietra and Shrenkii served with large blinis made fresh tableside.

Guests can choose from a selection of ‘classic’ starters including egg mayonnaise with anchovy; smoked salmon sourced from Severn & Wye; and seasonal vegetables such as white asparagus and hollandaise.

Desserts include Chocolate fondant with cherries, crème fraiche and kirsch; tourteau fromagé; and Paris Brest.

The wine list at Bébé Bob is billed as short and dynamic, with group head sommelier Giacomo Recchia honouring classic white and red Burgundy, as well as a variety of rosé wines - all with a fresh, crispness in mind to bring out the chicken’s juiciness.

A large selection of wines on the menu will be served by the glass, poured using a Coravin system.

Shutov shock up London's luxury market in 2008with the original Bob Bob Ricard in Soho and followed up with a site in The City in 2019.

Folie closed earlier this year having been launched in 2019 by French restaurateur Guillaume Depoix in 2019 as a luxurious Southern France-inspired brasserie.
