Korean restaurant KGK to open in Kensington

KGK – Korean Grill Kensington – opens on 8 September on Ashburn Place in South Kensington and will feature tables with an inbuilt tabletop style grill in the centre.

Dishes on the menu will include Japanese wagyu rib eye steak and it signature KGK King Kalbi, diamond cut beef short rib marinated in KGKs signature sauce, ready to be grilled. Other dishes will include

beef tartare, flavoured with sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic and Korean pear served with an egg yolk on top and main dishes such as pork belly su-yuk with ssamjang; and a traditional Korean salad.

Desserts, meanwhile, will include soybean ice cream.

As well as the omakase experience, KGK will offer lunchtime set menus between £22-25 featuring Korean salads, a choice of bulgogi (marinated beef), rice/soup, bibimbap and seasonal dessert as well as a vegan menu that it says is ‘reminiscent of a day at a Buddhist temple’ and which will include hot stone rice dishes.

An evening a la carte menu will be priced as £65 per head.
