Ceviche’s sole remaining restaurant closes
Announcing the news on Instagram, Ceviche’s management said that it was closing the group’s original and only remaining site ‘with a heavy heart’.
“The time has come for us to say goodbye to what has become our little corner of home,” the post reads.
“We want to express the deepest thanks to our team, whose passion and hard work have never waivered, even throughout the hardest times. Your commitment to your craft has made this a place to work like no other. Thank you for making Ceviche all that it was. What a journey it has been.”
The Frith Street restaurant - which went on to open two further sites under its core brand - played a key role in popularising Peruvian food in the capital.
It was launched in 2012 by DJ-turned-restaurateur Martin Morales, who is no longer involved with the business.
In 2019 Ceviche and its sister brand Andina were saved from administration by the founders of Rosa’s Thai in a deal that saw three of the group’s sites remain open.
The only site that now continues to trade is Andina, which moved from its original Shoreditch home to a new site in nearby Spitalfields in 2021.
