Chef restaurateur Marco Greco has chosen the West Yorkshire town of Horsforth for his third Pranzo Italian.

A former Barclays Bank, the site is undergoing an extensive renovation following an investment of £350,000 and is slated to open in May.

Greco launched his first Pranzo Italian casual dining restaurant in Ilkley six years ago and followed up with a site in Harrogate three years later.

“We’ve had our eyes on Horsforth for a while,” he says. “It is a fantastic town on the edge of Leeds with some stunning independent venues to eat and drink, we are looking forward to becoming part of the community.”

The new site will create 35 jobs and will bring the total amount of people Pranzo Italian employs to 100.

Pranzo takes its culinary inspiration from Greco's Calabrian heritage and is focused on homemade pasta.

“I wanted to offer something that was truly authentic, a real taste of home in Yorkshire,” Greco says. “We make everything in house, our pasta is made fresh daily, as are our breads, sauces, desserts.

Operations director Stephen Peace added: “Pranzo Italian has experienced a period of growth over the past 18 months. Our Harrogate restaurant expanded, creating an additional 30 seats and our Ilkley restaurant relocated to a bigger venue, doubling its capacity.”

The brand is understood to be looking to further grow its presence in Yorkshire and beyond.
