Jesus Adorno departs Arlington after one month
In a brief statement posted on Instagram, Adorno confirmed he had handed his notice to King having decided the job ‘wasn’t a good fit’ for him.
Adorno was famously maître d’ at Le Caprice for 38 years until its closure in 2020.
The site was subsequently taken over by King last year, who relaunched it under the name Arlington last month with Adorno returning to the restaurant as director.
However, last night (18 March) he announced he would be leaving the restaurant.
He said: “With great sorrow I handed my notice this morning to Jeremy King. It wasn’t a good fit for me and I decided it wasn’t right #familytime.”
Back when Arlington was announced last year, King described Adorno as being ‘integral to Le Caprice’s success over the years’.
King is yet to make a statement on Adorno’s departure.
Arlington is one of three new restaurants set to be launched by King this year.
He will next open The Park, which is due to launch in the new Park Modern building near London’s Kensington Palace Gardens later in the spring and will be in the grand cafés and brasseries mould that The Wolseley co-founder is known for.
This will be followed by the relaunch of historic London dining destination Simpson's in the Strand towards the end of the year.
All three ventures are part of his new business group called Jeremy King Restaurants.
