Karol Ploch named 2024 Roux Scholar
The sous chef at Kerridge’s Bar & Grill in London beat five other finalists to win the coveted cooking competition, which is celebrating its 40th year.
This year’s competition saw the six finalists charged with preparing a dish of poached rainbow trout with Carlingford oysters.
Ploch was presented the award by Alain Roux and Michel Roux and honorary president Thomas Keller at the ceremony held at Coworth Park in Berkshire last night (8 April).
The six finalists at this year’s competition were Harrison Brockington of Gather in Totnes; Ben Miller at Alex Dilling at Hotel Café Royal in London; Karol Ploch at London’s Kerridge’s Bar & Grill; Jordan Randerson at The Elephant in Torquay; Liam Smith of Pine in East Wallhouses; and Evelina Stripeikyte at The Glenturret Lalique in Crieff.
