British cutlery company Studio William has claimed to have ‘reinvented’ the steak knife with the launch of the non-serrated Meat Blade.

Product details:

The Gloustershire-based firm launched the Meat Blade at the Hospitality Show in Birmingham last month. The team behind the launch said the product was ‘engineered for efficiency, designed for drama and created to enhance flavour’.

The knife features a German carbon stainless steel, ice-hardened blade with a 35 degree cutting angle.

Studio William, the cutlery company founded by industrial designer William Welch, has said the product is designed to create the ultimate knife for slicing meat on the plate.

The Meat Blade has a hunting-knife like finish – it features a handle and decorative guard giving it a theatrical look with a weighty and comfortable feel.

USP:

Unlike traditional steak knives, the Meat Blades do not feature a serrated edge.

According to Studio William, serrated knives tear at the meat leaving juice and flavour on the plate and not the palate.

The Meat Blade, however, does not tear at the muscle fibres - it cuts the meat cleanly which preserves the juices, succulence and, therefore, the flavour of the meat.

Availability:

The Meat Blades come in sets of four knives – either in Larch, with a decorative handle, or Mulberry with an undecorated handle.

Both sets are supplied in a sustainable bamboo presentation box.

The blades can be ordered directly from Studio William by calling 01386 800000 or by visiting the company website.

Price:

Hospitality trade prices for the Meat Blades and all the Studio William cutlery products, dependent on individual budgets, can be discussed with the company directly.

Why should you buy it?

William Welch, chief executive of Studio William, said: “Good cutlery should enhance the dining experience. When professional chefs invest in high quality meat and cook it with such care, it should be delivered to the diner’s mouth in the most efficient way to ensure no flavour is lost.

“The Meat Blade enables customers to experience the full succulence and flavour of the meat, with no loss of juice.

“With Meat Blades, chef is able to bring a touch of theatre to the main course. The charismatic design evokes a celebration of the meat, while the technical blade provides optimum performance at a price which is affordable,” he added.
