Simply the Guest: LateRooms.com reveals hotels with best customer reviews

De Vere Venues, the meetings and conference division of hotel company De Vere, was the big winner of Laterooms.com’s annual ‘Simply the Guest’ awards, earning top spot in the Best Large UK Hotel category and second place for Best Business Hotel.

The awards, now in their second year, recognise the best UK hotels in a number of categories as decided by customer reviews on the booking website.

De Vere Venues’ Orchard Hotel in Nottingham, which opened in 2012, triumphed against tough competition in the Best Large UK Hotel category and came a close second to the Aston Hotel in Sheffield in the Best Business Hotel category. The venue was particularly praised for its fast Wi-Fi speed, stylish TV lounge and upgraded executive rooms.

General manager Lasse Hogberg said: “Not only is it an absolute honour to receive recognition from both business and leisure travellers alike, but to know that this is a guest voted award means so much to the De Vere Venues team.

“This is a fantastic way to start the year and we look forward to welcoming new and existing guests to The Orchard during 2014.’’

Customer reviews

Thousands of UK hotels were invited to nominate themselves in a number of categories from boutique or countryside hotel to romantic or pet-friendly. The hotel booking specialist then identified the winning hotels for the year by sifting through the database of genuine reviews left over the past year.

Award-winners were selected based on the most positive reviews across a number of metrics including service, cleanliness, location and general guest experience.
