Farm Frites adds flavour to potato wedges with new spicy range
Farm Frites is tapping into the demand for spicier snacks with a new range of generously-seasoned wedges.

Product details:

Available in cases of four 2.5kg bags, the Spicy Seasoned Wedges can be deep fried or oven cooked. They are both allergen-free and salt compliant under the 2012 Public Health Responsibility Deal.


The potatoes used to make the wedges are cut into eight pieces, as opposed to the usual six, which makes them both quicker to cook and easier to eat.

Nic Townsend, marketing manager for Farm Frites, said caterers were looking for quality sides, snacks and sharing options that appealed to today’s more adventurous taste buds.

He said: “Many consumers today do like food that bit spicier, and our seasoned wedges coated with herbs and spices for added flavour, taste and aroma are an ideal alternative to chips on the side, plain wedges on a sharing platter and as a stand-alone snack on a bar menu.”

Townsend added: “They also tap into premiumisation, as well as value – an important factor when the economic downturn has had a significant impact on consumer attitudes to spending and willingness to spend.”

Townsend suggests offering them as part of a meal deal, “to satisfy the 56% of consumers who tend to look for a meal deal in order to get good value when eating out”.
