Renowned fish chef and restaurateur Mitch Tonks will open his third Rockfish restaurant in Torquay this summer with his business partner Mat Prowse.

The restaurant will be situated on Victoria Parade by the harbour and will be able to sit 60 people. The menu will be typical to other Rockfish venues, including favourites such as grilled fish, seafood platters and rolls, but will also feature local offerings such as mussels from Torbay and fish from Brixham market, one of Britain’s most varied fishing markets.

Discussing the new venture, Tonks said: “You can’t get better than eating seafood by the sea and I think the experience is worth the drive alone! The South Coast of England has some of the world’s best fish and being on the coast means you can eat it the day it has been landed.

“Torbay is such a wonderful coastline and we are looking forward to Rockfish being part of the community and a new destination for seafood lovers.”

Tonks is a champion of seafood restaurants and has always had plans to take Rockfish further and open more restaurants. He already owns two Rockfish restaurants in Dartmouth and Plymouth, as well as co-owning the Seahorse seafood restaurant on the banks of the River Dart.

Rockfish Torquay will be located at 20 Victoria Parade and opens at the end of June.
