Imbibe Live 2014 will offer lots of beer-related activities for delegates to take part in.

The show, targeted at buyers and operators in the drinks industry, is returning to London’s Olympia on 1-2 July 2014.

This year, the Beer Fringe at the Beer Academy stand will offer mini-tutorials and tastings by some of the country’s leading experts, including Derek Prentice (Brewer of the Year from the Beer Writers Guild), Paddy Johnson (Windsor and Eton), Flo Vialan (Purity), Fergus Fitzgerald (Adnams – Brewer of the Year Parliamentary Beer Group), Alex Barlow (chief tutor at the Beer Academy), and Alison Capper (Hop Grower).

Other beer-themed activities include:

90-minute beer masterclasses

For those who want to tap into the growing interest in good beer but don’t know how to start, the Beer Academy is offering an immersion into the flavour-packed world of hops and malt, tastings with world-class beer experts, and an introduction of trendy British and continental beer styles customers are asking for. 

Craft Beer

Beer Writer of the Year, national columnist and author of Craft Beer London Will Hawkes, explains why craft beer is causing such a stir, and illustrates the growth of the global craft brewing culture with top examples from award-winning brewers. 

Pep up your Beer List

Charlie McVeigh, founder of Draft House, shares his tips on list creation, sourcing and, most importantly, staff training and customer events, so you can make the most of the craft beer boom.

Beer Trends

This talk and tutored tasting presented by beer expert Ben McFarland features six beers showcasing six exciting trends of 2014.

Cider & Food Pairing

Come and explore cider's food-matching potential with expert Mitch Adams. Taste a variety of ciders with matching canapes and explore cider's versatility and food-pairing potential.

Beer safaris

Three of the country’s best Beer Sommeliers: Jane Peyton (Beer Sommelier of the Year), Sophie Atherton (All Party Parliamentary Beer Group Sommelier of the Year) and Rod Jones will be taking visitors on an exploratory tour of Imbibe Live 2014 and help them discover some of the show highlights. Beer Safaris will depart at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm daily.

Imbibe Live 2014 will take place at Olympia GrandLondon on 1-2 July 2014.
