Sager + Wilde partners with the Corinthia
East London wine bar and restaurant Sager + Wilde is partnering with the Corinthia Hotel London to oversee the drinks offering at its bar and one of its restaurants.

The collaboration will launch with a cocktail menu at the hotel’s Bassoon Bar, and will develop over the year to include the hotel’s The Northall restaurant.

Sager + Wilde founders Marcis Dzelzainis and Michael Sager will begin the collaboration in July, launching a cocktail menu inspired by New Orleans classics using modern day techniques. The menu will reflect the style of the hotel whilst bringing Sager + Wilde’s “independent spirit” and style of bartending, says Dzelzainis

The bar will be headed up by Joshua Joyce, who takes his experience from the Beautfort Bar at The Savoy as well as Satan’s Whiskers in Bethnal Green.

A soundtrack for the bar has been curated by Simon Eltringham of The Sonic Emporium, and a list of champagnes chosen by Michael Sager will also be on offer.

Later in the year, Sager + Wilde will create wine lists for The Northall but will not be involved in Tom Kerridge's first restaurant in the capital, which will launch at the hotel later this year.

A separate bar area will be offer a menu of “diverse and interesting” bar snacks alongside the wine list that Dzelzainis and Sager create.

“Whilst we are one of London’s finest 5-star luxury hotels, we also love to explore the city we call home and we are excited by the newness Marcis and Michael bring to the Hotel,” says Thomas Kochs, Managing Director of Corinthia Hotel London

“This collaboration sees East London cocktail expertise meet the iconic elegance of Corinthia London and we look forward to our guests and visitors experiencing this at the Bassoon Bar”

Hotels are becoming sites of choice for many restaurateurs, with recent openings including Brett Redman’s Neptune at The Principal; and Serge et Le Phoque at The Mandrake.
