Delivery-focused fast food service Twisted London has opened what will eventually become its first counter service restaurant, at Tileyard in King’s Cross.

The launch of the new location was originally scheduled for later in the year, but has been fast-tracked due to a spike in demand for delivery, according to the business, as a result of the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown.

Twisted says the Tileyard site will open properly once the lockdown is lifted and restaurants can operate safely once more.

The menu, which is exclusively available for delivery via UberEats, includes a range of burgers such as ‘The Money Shot’ with brisket and chuck beef, panko crumbed Emmental cheese, smoked cheese sauce, chilli jam, and American mustard, in a brioche bun; and the ‘Hot Vegan’ featuring a plant-based chick'n patty, chilli buffalo sauce, Twisted slaw, and ranch sauce, in a vegan bun.

Twisted London is an offshoot of the online-based food channel brand Twisted, and claims to be ‘the world’s first delivery only restaurant born from social media’.

Having opened its first dark kitchen site in Bethnal Green back in 2017, the business expanded its operation significantly last year, opening a further five kitchens in the capital, and establishing outposts in cities across the UK including Glasgow, Southampton, Newcastle, and Cardiff.

In December it also launched a pizza-based sister concept out of its site in Bethnal Green kitchen called Twisted Slice.
