Kebab specialist Bababoom will open a site in Westfield Stratford City this spring bringing its total number of sites back up to two.

Founded by former Nando’s director Eve Bugler in Battersea in 2016, the fledgling group expanded to Islington 2018 but the Upper Street site appears to have been a casualty of the pandemic.

The brand serves a tight menu of Middle Eastern-inspired kebabs. Available with either chargrilled flatbread or fattoush salad, options include saffron and orange chicken shish; lamb and sour cherry adana; and beef brisket with chilli and smoked cheese kofte.

Kebabs are priced between £10 and £12 equating to an average spend per head of £20.

Bababoom’s investors include Charlie Carrol from Flat Iron, ex Nando’s CEO David Niven, Wahaca founder Mark Selby, and Oakman Inns CEO Peter Borg Neal.

Bababoom will be joined at Westfield Stratford City Indian street food concept Ghara, which is also opening this spring.

At Westfield London, Salt Yard Group will launch a charcuterie concept in spring while the summer will see the opening of competitive socialising concepts Sixes Cricket and City Bouldering.
