Restaurant bar and ‘innovative social space’ Green Room will arrive in Leeds this spring having originally been scheduled to launch last summer.

Initially billed as The Green Room, the Wellington Street venture is part of a £3m development near Leeds City Station and the new Channel 4 headquarters and is being headed up by first time restaurateurs Will Habergham and Pj Gardner.

The food offer is described as vegan-friendly and will be overseen by vegan café group Grön, which operates sites in Leeds and Harrogate.

Dishes will include avocado on toast; sweet potato halloumi hash; and vegan pancakes with blueberry compote, coconut yogurt, fresh blueberries, mint, Biscoff crumb and maple syrup.

The drinks offer will be focused on craft beers and ales from local breweries, including Northern Monk, Kirkstall Brewery and Magic Rock.

Green Room will also offer a spritz menu and a selection of cocktails including watermelon mojito; and peach margarita.

The rooftop site will blend an eclectic mix of industrial fittings, warm soft furnishings, reclaimed furniture, and lush greenery, creating a ‘laid-back ambience that can move effortlessly from day to night’. Green Room is also home to a pair of ‘luxurious’ two-bedroom apartments.

“We’re really proud of Green Room project and are confident that we have the perfect mix of exceptional plant-based food from Grön, as well as an incredible selection of drinks,” says Habergham.

“The venue itself looks amazing, and is designed to work both in and outdoors, to cater to the often-unpredictable Leeds weather.”
