Myrtle chef Anna Haugh will replace Monica Galetti on this year’s series of MasterChef: The Professionals it has been announced.

Haugh, who is currently a presenter on BBC TV cookery show Ready Steady Cook, revealed the move on Instagram, saying: “I’m very proud to announce that I am stepping in for @galettigram this series while she focusing (sic) on her family and restaurant. To be working alongside @greggawallace and @marcuswareing will be a great honour.”

Haugh, who also recently replaced Matt Tebbutt for an episode of cookery show Saturday Kitchen, will bring a “wealth of culinary expertise and experience” according to the MasterChef UK team.

Galetti announced last month that she would be stepping back from filming the current series of the cooking show on which she has been a judge for the past 14 years, citing being unable to balance the three-month TV filming schedule with her restaurant and family commitments as the reason.

The fifteenth series of the show will be aired on BBC one later in the year.

Speaking to BigHospitality in March for a podcast, Haugh, who runs Myrtle restaurant in Chelsea, discusses her high-flying cooking career and what makes Irish dairy so special.
