Hawksmoor has announced that it is to end its nationwide At Home meal kit business, which it launched back in the summer of 2020 amid the first Covid-19 lockdown.

In a Twitter post, Hawksmoor co-founder Will Beckett said the final slots for delivery will be 26-28 May, with final orders needing to be placed by 9am on Tuesday 24 May. However, he left room for the meal kits to return in some guise in the future.

"We are bringing our Hawksmoor at Home boxes to an end. For now," he said.

"If you have ever ordered a Hawksmoor at Home box then thank you so much for being part of a real source of pride for all of us."

Beckett added that Hawksmoor steaks would continue to be available for retail via online supermarket Ocado.

Hawksmoor launched its At Home boxes at a time when many restaurants were starting to capitalise on the meal kit demand, developing a successful ecommerce platform to showcase its rapidly expanding online offer, which also included bottled cocktails and gifting options.

In March last year, former Flat Iron and Wahaca managing director Jo Fleet joined the steakhouse group to head up its nationwide meal kit distribution and London restaurant delivery operations. However, she has since left Hawksmoor to join restaurant and coffee roasting business Caravan.
